Load some photos into David Esperalta’s Photo Compiler and you’ll get to turn those photos into a standalone Windows application (.EXE program). Send that application to your friend Bob for example and when he runs it, the application will bring up a window and display all the photos you selected.

Photo Compiler supports Windows 7, Windows 8 and 8.1, as well as Windows 10. Download an installer, run it, and setup wizard will help you install Photo Compiler on a PC that runs any of the aforementioned Windows editions.

Photo Compiler’s interface is divided into three panels. The one to the left lists all the photos you selected for your project. Pick a photo from the list and a preview will be displayed on the panel in the middle. The panel to the right lists several customization options: choose how the photos are displayed, select for how long each image will be displayed, choose what sort of transition will be used when switching from one image to another, and more.

As mentioned above, Photo Compiler will turn photos into a standalone Windows application. From the Project Options menu you can customize how that application will look like, how it will display your photos, and you can even password protect access to the application.

Photo Compiler isn’t free; a prompt will show up and remind you that you’re using an unregistered copy.

Easily turn photos into a standalone Windows application with a bit of help from David Esperalta’s Photo Compiler. Give the application to your friends and when they run it, they’ll get to see all your wonderful photos.

Pros

There’s nothing complicated about installing Photo Compiler on a PC that runs Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10. The interface is very clear and quite easy to figure out; several skins are available for the interface. You can choose what sort of transition effect will be used, for how long the images will be displayed, how the compiled application will look like, how the application will work, and more.

Cons

You can’t turn your project into a Windows application without saving it first. Save the project first, build the application second.
